This is a ROUGH CUT, will be cleaned up after we shoot more. Test film on canon scoopic, 16mm. Vision 3 500T, and vision 2 200T. Liked the 200T better, less grain. We lost a roll of film due to issue with pressure plate. Some of the out of focus shots due to this issue had to be used to complete the scene. Not a bad image for an old camera with a lens issue. The scene is part of a larger script about how local news may react to a zombie plague. Hope to shoot more with a better camera.

  • How did you record sound? I thought the canon scoopic is only mos w/out a crystal sync? Please tell me because i just bought a scoopic and it would be great if i could record sound!

    Thank You!

  • The scoopic is mos, very noisy. I built a blimp out of noise supresion material and rubber. Surprisingly it cut down on most of the noise. There was a little in the audio but you really have to listen for it. But to answer your question we just ran wireless lav's into a cannon xl1. The audio slips a little when editing to the film but you can cut it up and slide it around to sync it up. Hope that helped.

  • Hi, This telecine looks good, can you tell me how much colorlab charged you, and at what resolution. i shot both my college film on vision 2 200T but your telecine looks cleaner.

  • I can't remember exactly how much they charged. They processed and transferd 500ft straight to a hard drive, uncompressed. I think it was around 400 bucks. It was also fully timed. If I find the paperwork I can give you an exact price.

  • It was 478 bucks for the works.

  • Awesome, who did the transfer?

  • Colorlab in New York city. They processed it and transfered it uncompressed to a hard drive.

  • @mrhalloweenmovie oh ya! How did you sync up the sound with footage? Did you have to tamper with it a little bit since it wasn't shot w/ crystal sync?

  • Really cool ANDY! I always wanted to be in a horror film. Leaving for LA in a few weeks keep in touch.
