Phantom of the Opera ~ Original London Broadway Cast: 1. Prologue

The best of the best: Michael Crawford (Phantom) Sarah Brightman (Christine) and Steve Barton (Raoul) in the ORIGINAL Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This is the PotO that I grew up with and memorized by heart. Michael will ALWAYS be Phantom in my opinion. Gerard Butler can go back to his action movies. You just cannot top Michael's stunning performance and majestic voice!

well obviously you cant even begin to compare the movie cast to anu broadway cast...but hey, lets not forget howard mcgillin :) hes amazing, and ive never liked sarah brightman...in fact i kind of hate her voice

This recording of Phantom is only the original London cast recording. This musical never ever had any Broadway cast recording. I know that Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman were the leads in the original Broadway cast. However the producers of the musical didn't record the score with the Broadway cast. This was because the British cast album was deemed successful when it was released in the USA and they didn't want to duplicate the performances of Crawford and Brightman.

The soundtrack sounds so much better than on the actual CD, which sounds like they're singing at the bottom of a tin can (GRR)

@BelovedCaptain hes the phantom, and the longest running phantom in the world i might add, plus he was in the record breaking cast for longest running show :)
