  • How do you know which lenses require the aluminum foil hack? Thanks

  • @sbrener that is not hack, you just have to make the surface of lens mount conductive. And Al foil is better than removing black paint.. So if your lens is painted, add some fotil and it will work.

  • will it fit a pentax kx???

  • @charlovesthelion I will fit any pentax with K bayonet.. IstD, IstDs, IstDL, K100D, K110D, K100Ds, K10D, K200D, K20D, K-m (K2000), K-7, K-x, K-5, K-r.. + even old film bodies

  • pretty good even at F2, looks sharper than FA50/1.4 till F3.2, then FA50 becomes to be sharper. Nearly no green CA.

Well it should be good!!.. its stolen Zeiss Biotar 58/2 design :)

Only bokeh is a bit strange sometimes.

  • Cool. Just ordered a converter ring on ebay =) Btw, how's the lens? Is it good? Distortions? CA?

  • yes, old Valdai Helios 44M-4 for M42 screw. yes. he was wrong :) And not only screw it on, but have all functions and infinity focusing with pentax's own original adaptor.

  • Hey! Is that Helios-44m?? And it can mount on M42 adapter? I was in a camera store and some jerk store guy told me that I won't be able to to screw it on.

  • Got it, thank you very much.

  • There is no M42 Autofocus lens, so NOBODY can use AF with them. On Pentax you can use central AF sensor with them. Yes, when focused, it blinks red in viewfinder. + you can use focus trap - just hold shutter pressed and focus manually.. as soon as AF sensor detects right focus, camera does picture.

You can put adapter on lens and then lock them both in body bayonet.. but there is lock, so when removing, lens must be removed from adapter first (or some people do remove lock-slot from adapter)
