You misspelled "Michigan." Other than that fantastic. I'm from michigan and my roots are layed down there, this is such a beautifully depressing song.

This is interesting. I had to listen to it for a seminar in English class. I am glad my teacher recognized and told us to listen to it.

Odd that I find myself listening to this right after reading Stephen Crane's "The Open Boat"

The music is pure Gordon Lightfoot, love the song, love his music. Gordon's superior music writing abilities are legendary and he puts real feelings into all of his songs. The lyrics leave a lot to be desired. Misspelled and wrong words abound, maybe do some research next time you post lyrics or find the correct lyrics on Gordon Lightfoot's own songbook. It would put you in a better light to post correctly.

If they got that main hatch was closed they woulda made it the left side of the boat filled up of water and a wave hit her left side and it split in half... When my dad was in the coast guard he picked up the Edmund Fitzgerald on sonar

I am from Michigan and this really shows Michigans history

Im 13. I LOVE this song. I instantly fell in love with this song when my grandfather showed it to me. I pray every night for all sailors out there in any kind of storms praying that this wont happen to more people. R.I.P to all the sailors on deck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
