Michael Franks is the only person who make singing on top of a smooth jazz groove sound good. I can't name too many other people nowadays who can do that. The two usually don't mix.

I discovered Michael years ago after hearing "In Search of the Perfect Shampoo". His poetic lyrics are like none other. First saw him live at the Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa. My favorite artist. I have converted many, but not enough. Spread this man's genious to your friends. Such a talent should not be overlooked.

I have every song of Michael franks. His lyrics are awesome. Deep stuff. His early stuff is amazing. The Art of Tea was his best album. Jive is my favorite song. Also a lot of good cuts from Passion Fruit. Tell me all about it and Alone at Night great bathtub music. One of my favorite artists.
