@EliteTerm Did I? It was amazing! I was in my apartment and my fiance was working at the Kohl's by the 202. I remember looking out the window and noticing that the clouds in the distance looked kind of yellow-brown and I thought "that's weird". 15 minutes later, BOOM! Couldn't see the apartments across the parking lot. We even made national news as my dad called from Georgia because he saw footage on the Weather Channel. That was a hell of a first Arizona summer! :-D

Hey, I commented on your vid 6 months ago and guess what... now I live in Chandler! :-P When do the monsoons hit? Is it a "April showers" kind of thing and we're going to get them soon or what?

@kungfuman82 Nope! Usually dust storms start mid to late July, when the smell of "dirty rain" starts, that's when the first rain hits and they hit hard and big with plenty of wind, it calms down a little bit then it just pours and pours for days, dries up, sun comes out about a day then clouds again and more rain, then it ends around late August.

@g0ast Wow... so the hottest part of the year is when the high humidity hits also? This should be fun!

@kungfuman82 Perhaps the first couple days of storms but the rain overpowers the sun and it cools to like the high 70's and stays that way. The monsoon season though isn't constant, there's always gaps over a few days at a time where there are very few clouds or clouds with no rain and it heats back up for a little bit then continues. Every year it seems something "new" happens, like in 2009 -- the year after this video -- it hailed a few times.

@kungfuman82 The good thing is that monsoon season is almost the unofficial start of fall.
