Joan Jett, Arrows, I love rock n roll

From the July 2011 BBC2 show "Secrets of the pop song" with the BBC deliberately undermining the Arrows huge contribution creating the song, saying that Joan Jett found the song in an 'unlikely place' - referring to their teen pop TV series as a 'children's show'. Then they said Jett 'made the song her own'.
No, Joan Jett doesn't get any songwriting credit on the many covers, like the Britney Spears' version, and there are a large number of Britney Spears fans who don't even know who Jett is.
The Arrows audience were the same age, mid teens, as the kids who liked Elvis and The Beatles. That's rock n roll. Not an unlikely place to find a rock song, on a rock and pop TV series that featured a cross section of guests like Slade, T.Rex, Gene Pitney, Randy Edelman, The Drifters, and Gilbert O'Sullivan.
This is insult to injury, considering the BBC ignored the Arrows original release of the record in 1975, never giving them any radio or TV play. If it weren't for ITV-Granada, Joan Jett would have never even heard the song.
Shame on the BBC for this undeserved kick in the Arrows collective yarbles.
Good clip of the Arrows all the same, I just wish that toffee nosed BBC compere would shut up his spin hype mouth while they aired the Arrows clip of the original from 1975, which was an excellent performance.
