  • This is a classic textbook example of brainwashing. This commercial came out in 1970 and we discussed it during Health class when I was a sophomore in 1971. The message is repeated non-stop throughout the commercial. Then from 0:55 to 0:59, the MELODY ONLY is played with the message PRINTED on the screen. So in the minds of EVERY viewer, smoker and non-smoker alike came the jingle "But you can't take the country out of Salem."

  • 0:24 Was "Seinfeld's Dad" ever young???

  • @chrisman737 Ha ha very funny..you're such a comedian...life's a bitch and then we die! Live it up and LIGHT UP America it's Springtime!! You are another brainwashed American casualty my friend I pity you! Dig THAT to your stinkin grave!

  • the lady (the lady working at her desk) in the very first shot of this commercial, IS SO HOARSE FROM SMOKING SALEMS, THAT SHE CAN HARDLY CARRY A TUNE.

  • the man in the chair at :10 being shaved I believe is Thurl Ravenscroft (or at least the voice is).. why should you care .. he was also the man who sung "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" .. in the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.. and just as important, if not more so, the voice for many years of Tony The Tiger in the Frosted Flakes commercials... Theyrrrre Greatt !!!
