thanks heaps for posting that. im in the same boat as you.... i got no gut to press off (except aiming for my first 440pound press not 700+).
after the next comp im trying your method cause i hate touching really low.

Do you still tuck your elbows as hard as you can on the eccentric with your style of benching? Then flare on the way up?
