For those of you who don't have the import CD 'D'Angelo - Live At The Jazz Cafe, London' (1996, Toshiba), here's a few samples to enjoy. D'Angelo pays tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire' with 'Can't Hide Love' (THEN girlfriend Angie Stone is on background vocals!). As a bonus, 'Heaven Must Be Like This', originally by the Ohio Players, is also performed. Click on the following link to order the CD...

  • It's just not fair for someone to be THAT talented! lol

  • THANK YOU for adding "Heaven Must Be Like This" after "Can't Hide Love!" Was the smoothest blend between the two and that Ohio Players remake is one of my all-time favorites from D'Angelo. This just made my morning!!!

  • The "Son of Soul" has returned to the land of the living, performing live for the first time in over a decade in Sweden recently with several new songs! My generation's version of Sly Stone has finally emerged...and he appears to have lost nothing in the process.

Hold on, Soul music...help seems like it's finally on the way. Don't you die on us yet! Now, if we can just get Lauryn Hill to disembark from the crazy train and back in the studio, this might be the best year in a looooooong time.

  • @letsprazedance Disagree but he good & paid respect to the originals.

  • Man they was jamming I wish I was there

  • @seand67 Will do. Could you point me in the direction of some of these non-album tracks? Also, I'm sure you've heard all of the talk about James River. Supposedly it's coming out later this year. But who knows?

  • @KrfNYC2 Ok, I'll accept your point. As for me, I have 3 of his CDs (Including the import 'Live In London Jazz Cafe' that was used for this video), plus a bunch of non-album tracks that could easily be used for 2 other CDs. Since D'Angelo isn't coming back anytime soon, you should compile the extra music and beef up your playlist. Check out D'Angelo's 'credits' on his page at AllmusicDOTcom

  • @seand67 But to call him a waste seems to imply that his talent has not been put to use. I would disagree with that statement. I have both of his albums on my ipod (as well as other tracks with him), I listen to them very often and they make me happy. What more could one ask for? I dig what you're saying. We would have liked at least a couple more albums by now. But he's still provided us with quality material. I just think that "waste" is a strong word.

  • @KrfNYC2 He's gone from being the heir apparent to Marvin Gaye to a dope head that looks like the late Ol Dirty Bastard, and let's be honest, hasn't released a CD in over 10 years. So much talent has apparently been smoked away. So yes...waste!
