Video of Hunter's First Buck at our leased farm in Upperville, VA. Sorry for the shaky video but you know Dad had the buck fever and trying to actually enjoy the experience with Hunter.
When we first laid eyes on him he was walking toward us probable 130 yards down a fence line and thought he was a fork and we were going to pass on him. Then as I pick up the video camera and get ready to start filming, Hunter said he was moving away and indeed he had moved far to the left of us at 100 yards. At this point i see his small brow tyne on his left side and thought he was an 8 making him a shooter for Hunter. Then as if he were on a string, he changed direction and started coming straight for us. Hunter took a nice broadside shot at about 25-30 yards. We stayed in the stand for another 5 - 10 minutes trying to reply to texts, celebrating, and giving him some time so we wouldn't push him if he wasn't down.
In the end, Hunter has been hunting hard for two years and deserves this terrific first buck!!
Congratulations Hunter!!
Dad
