The Tattoo Project: Body. Art. Image. A synthesis of portraiture and tattoo art that poses the eternal question, "Who am I?".
The portrait camera and the tattoo -- both profess, or pretend, to reveal identity.
In the Spring of 2010 a dozen Vancouver photographers were challenged to make fine art out of tattoo art over a three day weekend, from a cast of a hundred tattooed subjects. A dozen different photographic visions and philosophies were brought to bear on the assembled body art.
Richard Vedon said of portrait photography, "A portrait isn't a fact, only an opinion". The images that emerged from this experiment constitute a Gallery Exhibition unlike any other.
Are the portraits that emerged mere likeness -- or a revelation? Come and see for yourself.

Tattootribe, I love these videos. :) They're greatly informative, give a great perspective and are very inspiring. This is going to become one of my favorite channels. :) Thank you.
