the lady with the rights to this song was asking for a RIDICLEOUS amount of money for the song, and that money would come out of CANADIAN TAX PAYERS wallets, and CBC didnt want to spend TAX dollars on a song that is over priced...I love this theme as much as the next Canadian. But seriously CBC had no choice really...

Tonight, I put the TV on mute, and played this video at FULL VOLUME before the Flames-Canucks game, because this song IS the HNIC song, and ALWAYS will be!

Dude, props for putting the Jets and Whalers in. Some ignorant bastards think the NHL will never see those cities again. The Whale is leading the league with revenue. And the Moose. (Manitoba AHL hockey team) Is leading the it's league with attendance. They won't fail, Las Vagas will fail. Phoenix is failing. Hockey should go were it belongs.

You know what, I'm gonna agree. I think it will be a Detroit, Pittsburgh match-up again. Chicago is good, but still a year or so away and in the East, Carolina just simply doesn't have it in them to get by a squad like Pittsburgh. Either way the finals will be very entertaining, good for hockey!
