Today Scotty Kilmer taught me that if my car doesn't start, hit it with a stick until it does. This simplifies automotive maintenance and repair greatly.

@26hknelson so will the flywheel stop the trans from workin cause ,my trans is down also..first my trans went out then 5 weeks later my engine went out and thats a new engine i just paid for so is this the flywheel fault?fuel pump is good starter is good

and if smoke starts rollin outta the starter like on my old 93 ford ranger it might be time for a new one lol. my father was wondering though if a car kinda cranks over slow (like his 04 sunfire) but starts fine afterwards, does that mean theres a "Flat spot on the armature"? meaning its about time to get a new one before she dies off completely?

Hey Scotty I had something very unusual happen. I tried starting my 4runner one day and it wouldnt turn over. I tried a few more times with hints of it almost starting then on one of the last tries it finally turned over. Once i turned it off i had to go through that whole process again. I decided to get a new battery and havent had any problems since. Question is do u think that a bad battery was the issue or will my luck run out? Perplexed.

I have been told that if I put the car battery on the ground it drains fast really fast .

@luccerio tale from the past, batteries are insulated now and don't ground that way
