The first time I saw Johnny it was at the Wheel Club in Montreal in 1998. I was stunned! As soon as he got off the stage I approach him and suggested that I wanted to record him. He tried to shun me off. He wanted nothing to do with me. He's very suspicious of people's motives. Later some mutual friend vouched for me and we began to talk... the rest is history, as they say.
