A new song I wrote entitled "Appalachia." Hope you like it.

Run me down
Past the fallen bridge
Your father built when you were a kid
In those honest days
When snow would hold her breath
But now her careless winds blow in October

Hear her say: Oh, Appalachia
My home lies here

Remember in the front yard
I helped you plant the garden
The clay and soil beneath our knees
Shoveled through God's earth
To strike something solid
Uncovering a horseshoe in Her palms

Hear her say: Oh, Appalachia
My home lies here

We spent our days
growing older in the oak tree's shade
running through the longest nights of the winter hills

Forgotten borrowed books
And bracelets that have worn thin
Are faded old and have grown to my skin
Imprints in the lawn
That our bodies hollowed out
Became our secret craters in the grass

Hear her say: Oh, Appalachia
My home lies here

  • This keeps coming back to me. Wish it was on an album.

  • Good song. I like the lighting in this video, and your voice is beautiful.

  • You have a really pretty voice. A lot of talent. I found you when looking over my old video of a song I co-wrote titled Oh Appalachia.

    Your voice is amazing

  • this is amazing! just beautiful

  • I have to admit,... I am addicted to this song.

Discovered it last week and just need to listen to it again and again.

Love the rest of your songs also.

  • favorited.

  • Absolutely amazing! One of my favorites of yours.

  • The song sounds lovely. The chirps of the birds and other, general nature sounds really add to the rustic, kind of Iron & Wine feel you have going. Look forward to more original songs!

  • i think it sounds good with october going up higher. it would sound weird with it going lower.

    i loovvee this song (:

  • i love this!!!

but i think you ought to go lower at the end of october, instead of getting higher. whenever i listen to this i feel like it should do that. keep up the amazing work!
