Tsukiji is one of the biggest fish warehouses in Japan, and the tuna auction used to be a major tourist attraction, up until it was closed to the public because tourists kept messing with the fish. This video shows some of the warehouse area plus the tuna. http://threestepsoverjapan.blogspot.com/

  • I've always wanted to visit japan, not only for it's amazing people but for it's wonderful world of 5-grand-sold fish :D

  • Yeah, that's the amazing thing. It's not that the fish sell to people that will eat them at home for $5K each, but that one fish that sells for $5K will still manage to bring in a profit to the restaurant serving it. That's why sushi is so expensive here.
