Shooting my custom built Ruger 10/22. It has a Volquartsen carbon fiber wrapped barrel with compensator. No, the comp really doesn't do much, but looks better than the non-comp'd version. I also have the Volquartsen cantilever scope base because the receiver holes are not drilled and tapped straight (good job Ruger!). I installed the Volquartsen target trigger parts kit, which is great. I left out the extra power hammer spring because it was causing the bolt to short stroke. Nikon 3.5-10x50 Monarch scope. It's a little bit overkill for a .22LR, but it was free so I can't complain. The stock is a Fajen legacy adjustable stock. Oh, and I put in a recoil buffer. Other than that the rifle is stock, haha.

  • Does the compensator come off? I like the barrel but I would want a black compensator over the one it comes with..

  • @GlockDropNRoll Yes, the comp does come off. I think they make the barrel with the black comp, then again it would be easy enough to just paint it.

  • @ericandamanda338 Thank you for the info, I can't decide between this barrel or the tactical solutions one but I love the carbon fiber on this one.

  • @GlockDropNRoll All I can say is that the Volquartsen barrel I have will shoot golf balls at 125yds all day long. It will easily keep 20 shots in a 1 inch group at that distance.

  • @ericandamanda338 Wow that's very impressive. I have all the custom items written down that I'm going to buy and at the end of it all it will cost a little less than $900. Kind of outrageous to spend that much on a .22 LR but at the same time it will be a rifle that I will have forever and I'm thinking about getting into .22 shooting comps after i purchase everything also.

  • @GlockDropNRoll It's been 6 years since I built mine and don't remember how much I spent. It was probably around $750 w/o the scope. My dad gave me the scope, it's a Nikon 3.5-10-50 Monarch Gold. Expensive scope, but not when it's free. I hope your's turns out as badass as mine is lol. It's a worthwhile investment and you can take pride in the fact that you built it yourself.

  • I love my .22's, but it is kinda funny to hear that next to all the other rifles being fired.

  • @ericandamanda338 When I complete my build I'll post a video off it. Probably wont be for quite some time though

  • @ericandamanda338 I was thinking about my first scope the other day and decided it would probably be best to start off with a Weaver 4X FIXED scope. If anyone has issues with Weaver's scopes (ex. Scout scope or Rimfire series) let me know. The price seems too good to be true :)
