  • Chris, if I lace up my skates all the way to the top, I can not bend my knees and ankles, I move like a penguin.

Some skaters skip the top eyelet, some skip even two top eyelets. Others have another teschnique: they skip the top and the third eyelet (the one in the L of the skate), which allows ankle to flex. There are even guys who leave their laces very loose, but those have strong and trained ankles.

What do you think of these?

  • @ceghevaramea As you become more proficient on the ice, you can pretty much do whatever feels more comfortable for you. I always leave my top 2 eyelets loose, this allows me to increase the range of motion with my ankles and also take much tighter corners.. I sure other skaters and players have similar styles or have made up others. When learning its important to do things correctly, once you know its about what feels more comfortable (learn the evolve). What about yourself?
