http://www.1aauto.com/1A/-/GMC/Sierra 1A Auto shows you how easy it is to check and change your transmission filter on a 2002 GMC Sierra. This procedure should be the same for most 2000-2006 era GMC and Chevrolet full size heavy duty pick-up trucks.

  • What did you clean the pan with? It looks like brand new. I am going to be servicing my 2004 GMC 2500HD next weekend and hope it goes as easily as you make it in your videos. Thank you for posting these videos.

  • @kckettridge You can wipe it down with some clean rags. It should look pretty clean after you wipe it down.

  • How would you complete the full flush? How would you remove all 11 quarts of fluid, including the one in the torque converter?

  • @bhallais1 The easiest way to do that would be to take the vehicle to a service center where they have a machine that will take all of the old fluid out and replace it with new fluid.

  • I have a 2004 chevy Surburban with 250,000 miles. It has never had a fluid change. but it shifts perfect and runs like new. With that many miles should i go ahead and change it or leave it alone.

  • @pensacolasurfer I wouldn't flush it as that may disturb some of the gunk in there. You should be ok changing the filter and adding in some fresh fluid.

  • @kenman1717 That's correct. On this truck when you do a full flush it takes about 11 quarts of fluid.

  • thanks!
