  • fuck of you greasy cowardly spick hi ti

  • @1690skinz To judge by the grandson, your grandfather was probably too busy looting and setting up black market operations to do much fighitng. Most allied units were good people and are well remembered, but you evidently belong to the scumbag minority.

  • One Italian gentleman in Ortona told me after they leveled the town hall they had a parade. He ran beside North Nova's yelling 'chocolate!, chocolate!'-& they said' No, No, You are too old.

He continued on & yelled this time yelled Cigarette!,cigarette! & they again said No ,No but this time they quipped , you are too young'.'

Those Damn Highland Units! Tight bastards all- God Bless'em!

I still chuckle when I think about that story..

Thank You to those who served.

  • @pawsjones i was at sgt smiths memorial service...... vancouver is very proud of that regiment

  • @FabioPBarbieri did he trip and end up in a lifeboat everyone knows the hitis are a bunch of cowards and facist scum and thats from my grandfather who thousands of hitis surrendered to

  • My father was a child in Rome when the city was freed. The German occupation had been one long hideous nightmare and the arrival of the Allies was universally welcomed. They may not have started out with the idea of setting Italy free - she was supposed to be one of the enemies, after all - but that is what they did, with their courage and their blood, and most Italians are grateful to this day.

  • My father was in the Canadian Seaforth Highlanders in June 1944 he was a Private in the same platoon as Ernest Wilkie Smith who was awarded a Victoria Cross. My father would have loved to have seen this footage...thanks for posting, unfortubately he died 9 yrs ago at the age of 91yrs!!

  • Great video. That sounds like " Farewell to the Creeks (Sicily) " towards the end.

  • I LOVE seeing victorious Canadian troops marching to the pipes in front of the Coliseum.
