  • Not sure why they dropped him (or maybe he made the change?) but it didn't seem like they did too much to promote him anyway. The producers of this movie obviously didn't need a mgmt co to find him. Jason will get great exposure from this film festival and from the internet alone.

  • Who says he was dropped? That's a whole lot of speculation. All anybody knows is he took the info off his myspace. He could have just as easily been the one choosing to go a different way.

  • I wonder why Jason was recently dropped by Hard8Mgt after he received positive reviews for this song...

  • I didn't take it that way. I like Buckley's version better as well. I just think it is very special that he put Buckley on the charts more than Jeff did himself which is indeed a tribute to Jeff Buckley.

  • I meant no disrespect to Jason and his performance. He is a talented young man and this was a wonderful opportunity for him. He does indeed honor Jeff when he sings the song; in fact, Jason's performance of Hallelujah on Idol got me hooked on the song in the first place. It's just a matter of personal preference which of many versions of the song you prefer, since so many people have done it and they are all pretty different. This will be a nice stepping stone for Jason in his career.

  • Jeff is dead, Jason lives on and honors Jeff Buckley each time he sings it.

  • Ele é muito bom no que faz. parabéns

  • I believe Cohen had written about 80 verses, so I guess some lyrics will always be left out by everyone including him ;-)

~ I don't think it's about leaving lyrics out, as much as choosing what suits the occasion though really. As I understand it, Jason created this particular arrangement to fit the scenes it's being used for in the film ~ Amar a Morir, I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing it in context :)

Thanks for sharing your video oshinfried :)

  • I agree debrakay, plus Jason leaves out some of the lyrics every time. Good performance though.
