This was my first roller coaster...
-
@homestar92 KI should switch to The Voyage trains and there problem solved
-
these trains are now on SoB at kings island and they are WAY better than the premier rides trains but SoB is SBNO still thumbs up if u want it to re-open for 2012:)

It would seem that all Roller Coasters that run with that particular set of cars have trouble staying open... Just look what happened to the coaster they moved to.
-
we went on that ride at night. I was petrified cuz it was my first coaster
-
its open again actually. It opened in spring 2010.

I have to say that it's now 2010 and the last time i was in Myrtle Beach was 1983...alot has changed and i used to love to go to the Pavilion and what is now Family Kingdom and ride everything i could! I know the Pavilion is no longer there...
which is sad...i had alot of good times both on both sides of Ocean Blvd...
The Myrtle Beach Pavilion will definately be missed...

wow. i remeber this ride. i used t oride this and the swamp fox at family kingdom all the time. i hate that they tore it down. i live in florence so we used to come here a lot. i still dont believe that they tore it down for hotel reasons. my favorite ride was this one. i remembe last year they had rides from the Pavillion at Broadway at the Beach including the Viking Ship Carosel, and a few others i can't remember at this moment. nice video by the way. 5 stars.
The Pavilion has not reopened. Some of the amusements have been moved to "Broadway at the Beach". The hurricane roller coaster shown here was completely demolished and only an open field remains where the park once stood. Family Kingdom, a completely different amusement park is about 10 blocks south of where the Pavilion once stood. Family Kingdom is what reopened in the spring of 2010. The Pavilion amusement park is now only a fond memory and a piece of Myrtle Beach history.

This was our last ride on the Hurricane. I believe it was the last day that the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park was open to the public. My daughter and I rode this beast frequently for years. It was quite a ride and we miss it.
