my 98 integra does the same thing go to my videos and itll show you what mine is doing after it warms up it drops to 1000 rpm but if u rev it itll go back up to about 2000 rpm then go back down

Mines doing the same thing. It's more than likely the idle air control valve. Try cleaning it out. If that doesnt work, it needs replaced.

weird mine did this a little while after i adjusted the base idle (i have a 1990 btw) and i just adjusted it again and it stopped, i think on mine the screw comes loose from vibrations and doesnt know whats going on but after adjusting it goes back to normal. good to see im not the only one who had this issue but lol

adjust your chole

Just locate the Fast Idle Control Valve - check the service manual for the location (FICV) unscrew the cap and then with a coin screw the plastic part all the way down........

My friend has a 1988 Honda Accord and it does the same thing and he hasnt found the problem yet.

iac valve or you have air in your coolant system bleed it out
Replacing the EACV fixed the problem. I replaced it over 4 months ago, and the problem has not reoccurred. Thanks for all the attempts to help, but I actually already understood the cause of the problem, and very clearly explained it in a comment 6 months ago.

shit... my friend had the same problem with his car. Is this common problem with Honda's Engine?

It does seem to be a fairly common problem. The solution to the problem is generally either 1) replace the EICV (electronic idle control valve) or 2) repair a vacuum leak (vacuum leaks can occur in many places, including maladjusted throttle cable, broken vacuum hose, various gaskets).

The problem is that too much air is being allowed into the engine. On most cars, it would just cause the idle to stay high. However, with the gen1 Integra engines, if the throttle is closed and the engine is warmed up, the injectors stop opening if the RPM is above 1200 rpm. This is because the ECU thinks you are decelerating and shuts off the injectors to save fuel. When the RPMs drop back down, the injectors kick in again and the idle rises again, and the oscillations continue. Neat, eh?
