  • Walgreens does flu shots for 39.00

  • Government controlled health care is not only totalitarian but an act of state aggression upon the sovereign citizen who alone has the right (using their own money) to choose what medical advice and treatment to get without state interference, oversight or funding. Socialized medicine just like any other state controlled entity brings about higher prices and lower quality, such as waiting 3-5 months for a MRI and up to a year to see a specialist. I should know, I live in miserable Canada!

  • Just a reminder of why ANYONE who says "The Canadian health care system is great because it's 'free' and everyone has healthcare" is an absolute IDIOT.

  • Ha! We got the Canadian system beat. Here in the US there is no wait time. No money or insurance you just don't get one. You can't wait for something you're not going to get, duh. Sarah Palins death panels are built into the US system by default. Or you can get private insurance and have the insurance company death panel make the decision for you.

  • WTF are you talking about. We have single-payer, not socialized medicine here in Canada. In socialized, the government assigns a doctor to you. I can switch doctors whenever I want.

  • The problems with waiting times in Canada only started in the last 10 years, when the government started slashing healthcare budgets massively to compensate for the fact that corporations have been paying less and less taxes over the years. In the 1950's they used to pay 50% of all taxes, and now it's about 7%.

In the US when you get sick your insurance company finds an excuse to cancel your insurance. It's a disaster there too. WIth all the problems it's still better in Canada by far.

  • Great system huh, I don't think going to my family Dr. and paying $100.00 for a flu shot is a great system. Then have to fight with my insurance company to pay for.I don't like socialize medicine either just cost control.

  • Yeah.I'm sure your government would love to 'have' Mr.McCreith.They'd love to 'have' everything he and his wife have earned over their lifetime if he gets sick in the U.S.

There are things wrong with the American health care system AND there are things wrong with the Canadian health care system.

The answer isn't one system or the other.

What about a combination of BOTH systems?

  • Best of luck Mr. McCreith! After you get your money back, come on down to America. We'd love to have you!!

  • Hard to believe such well meaning idiots in this country want our great system to become a socialistic state. What happened to freedom and democracy? Oh, I forgot...democracy is fine if the votes go our way...but just let "democracy" in action produce a winner like Hamas and then it is no longer desirable. Hypocracy.
