Loey Machan tells one of the darker ERS stories...

Whilst Falcon and Stuart prospered under Duke's guidance, other young engines of the Mid Sodor did not heed the old engine's advice and chose to go their own way. One of these was the engine that 'Falcon' replaced, the original 'Albert', whose unruly temper and cruel behaviour was seen to by the Mid-Sodor's trucks... with dire consequences.

(Based on an incident from the Campbeltown and Machrihanish Railway's locomotive, Princess, who suffered a similar fate.)

The stories are available for download as fully cast audios and audio narratives from Sodor Island Fansite (http://www.sodor-island.net), and the entire Extended Railway Series Library of 126 stories is available for reading at Sodor Island Forums (http://sodor.proboards.com)

  • are the books in the shops or ar they just made up self creations?

  • @modelrailway100 They're not available in shops - nor would we be able to market them in such a way - they're fan made creations for Sodor Island Forums.

  • please message me the story concerning princess

  • @GeneralLeeStudios Not much to tell on that one - the Driver foolishly decided to run the engine back to the terminus with too little water, and as a result caused a lot of damage with the dry heat as opposed to the use of steam. He was immediately ousted from his position and the poor engine never worked again. Shame.

  • Just out of interest, has anyone written about Tim, Jerry and the mine engine?

  • @NewController01 All three were briefly skirted over by Fox and I in the last story of Mid Sodor Engines, but never to any great detail. We had higher hopes than we actually came to realise for Tim and Jerry - playing on the similar names of the cat and mouse double-act - but it's just something that never happened.

  • I have a funny feeling that the story "Jim the Jinx" was inspired from the TUGS episode "Jinxed"

  • This is my favorate ERS Volume

Listening to it reminds me of Godred. :) :P

  • I thought The Mining Engine was named Atlas.

  • Poor Albert.

I know he got what he deserved but still.

  • The first coach behind Duke's tender looks like a Welsh Highland Railway Coach.

  • @TheERSchannel wow thanks for the story. that is sad.
