Prokofiev: War and Peace opera 1961 (part 1)

Prokofiev's opera War and Peace, directed by Alexander Melik-Pashayev and recorded at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1961. Included in the cast are: Pavel Lisitsian as Napoleon; Artur Eizen as French Officer Captain Rambal; Nikolay Timofeyevich Gres (Николай Тимофеевич Гресь) as General Kutuzov's assistant.

This opera has been uploaded in memory of Nic Gres (1920-2003), and that is why the still pictures are of him. The pictures do not relate to the plot of the opera.

Sorry the credits at the end say "French office" instead of "French officer" - my typo.
