Action against AIDS Germany organized the international Doha+10 Conference at the Landesvertretung Baden-Württemberg in Berlin on November 24, 2011: 10 years after the 2001 "Doha Declaration on the TRIPS Agreement and Public Health" -- Has the access to medicine been improved through or in spite of the new World Trade Organization frame conditions?

Mboi Evans Misati is a Senior Patent Examiner and Head of Outreach, Research and Collaborations at the Kenya Industrial Property Institute with close to 20 years knowledge and practical experience in management and
administration of Intellectual Property (IP). He has been actively involved in the enhancement of IP institutional, policy and legal frameworks at national (Kenya), regional and international levels
including the EAC, COMESA, AU, EU, ARIPO, WIPO, WTO and WHO. Mr. Misati was actively involvement in the negotiations and drafting of break-through decisions of WTO on TRIPS and public health under the Doha Development Agenda, and WHO's Global Strategy and Plan of Action on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property. He has been a member of the Technical Committee for EAC Cooperation on TRIPS and Access to Medicines since March 2005. He is the Ministry of Industrialization's IP advisor to the Ministries of health. He chairs WTOTRIPS National Sub-Committee on Kenya's Implementation of the TRIPS Agreement. He regularly resources in local, regional and international forums in IP and public health. He has undertaken consultancies for UNCTAD, EAC-GTZ, EABC-GIZ, etc. on IP and public health. He has published several research papers on IP and public health including TRIPS flexibilities. He has Master of Intellectual Property, Bachelor of Science amongst other academic/professional qualifications from institutions in Kenya and abroad.
