Read the title, this is the DEMO version, not the full game.
Metroidvania/Castletroid fans should watch this video too because the game is heavily inspired from Super Metroid and Castlevania.Symphony of the Night.

The main differences in difficulty is that:
In Casual you can surive at least 50 bullets with 100 units of health before dying.
In Insane you can surive at least 3 bullets with 100 units of health before dying.

Insane difficulty also gives you a huge boost in Experience points when going to new areas and defeating enemies meaning leveling up is more likely to occur.

I started the run at level 19 because every 10 levels you get a significant boost. For example, at level 10 your health will now be at 200 units without any Health Upgrade pickups. In this video I do end up at level 20 which means another significant boost and that is having the entire map shown.

I need to know a way to start a new game at level 1 without having to erase my save data from the File Management menu. Otherwise for a New Game Plus it is best to start the run at the maximum possible level (I don't know what is the highest possible level ti is at the mement, 50, 100???)

Improvements from the previous run:
* Door unlocked cutscene is skipped.
* The 2nd boss is now optimised.
* The tunnel section before the pistol is a bit faster too.

Parts that were slower than the casual run
* I grabbed a ledge before going underneath the tunnel to trigger the cut-scene where Clair gets kidnapped.
* There was slowdown at one of the ladders.
* In the giant room with 2 guards on the lower section I took a stealth route and then jump near to them to make them perform a melee attack which misses and gives me enough time to escape. Rushing through the area is suicide, you'll be dead in a few shots.
* After the swimming section there was a notable part that took me 5 seconds to get up to the higher platform. I hate that part.
* The area that has walljumping, I killed a guard because he can kill me in a few seconds, if I didn't shoot back.

New Game + With Big secret in 16:14.

  • u need to get the full game id like to see how quick you can do that on insane

  • I just completed the game in Casual (full game) not 100% items. Casual feels too easy. Insane would be interesting to watch :).

In the SDA forum there is a Sequence Break that can finish the game in Sub 40 Minutes. I haven't fully read it yet as I just completed the game.

  • sweet jesus, level 20 in THE DEMO? time to buy the game man.

  • I got the full game. There's a lot to remember now when speed running this game :(.

  • damn, this guy can jump like 3x his own height. I mean, at least Samus has the power suit and the whole "Chozo DNA" thing. What's this guy's excuse?

Also, nice run. The game looks rather neat, though the 2.5D is a bit distracting.

  • He did loads of training with his father apparently.

But Samus in her Zero Suit will outclass him in every way... as long she has a backup weapon that can kill enemies from far distances.

    Also good job.

  • So are you, it is "you're"

  • your wrong

  • my fastest time was 45 min. theres a 'secret room ' that allows you to bypass most of the game.

  • nope epic created the graphics and stuff using their thingy called unreal technology and chair thought of the story and shit

  • They use a sequence break, so it skips a bulk of the game.
