Specific details about technique to do a proper clean pull as practiced by the vast majority of the world's elite Olympic weightlifters. This assistance exercise should be performed exactly as in a full squat clean; by skipping the eccentric (drop and catch) portion of the lift you can spend more time improving the pull which is much more difficult to master. For beginner and intermediate lifters.

Don't forget to use a hook grip.

  • Thanks bro. What percentage should I use in a clean pull comapred to a power clean or deadlift?

  • @RusiMusic As a general rule of thumb, select a maximum weight you can do while maintaining form. We tend to train with no more than 10% above our clean max, but we'll do doubles or even triples at that weight. If you can't keep your back tight or the bar in position then consider lightening the weight.

  • Great video, this was one of the few I found that actually had good technique while performing a clean pull. You really stick those heels on your second pull which is the hardest thing for me to master right now.

  • @beytin Thanks.
