Coca-Cola Can Opener Goldberg Machine

This Rube Goldberg Machine was created as a senior physics project with the objective of opening a can of Coca-Cola Classic. Dimensions: 8' x 30" x 4'. It works like this:
Cart is released that triggers the lever which moves a combination fixed and moveable pulley to lower a bolt triggering the next lever. This lever tips another lever to release a ball. The ball rolls down the lever, through a pipe, tipping another lever. This, in turn, releases the second ball that rolls down a ramp, through vacuum hosing, down another ramp to a bike wheel. As the ball is caught in a cup at the top of the wheel, the wheel spins and a bolt on the opposite side of the wheel trips the release for the original cart still sitting at the top of the machine. The cart rolls to the bottom and hits two levers. The first punctures a hole in the top of the can to allow it to breathe and then the second pops a hole in the bottom of the can to empty it into a glass below. The cart continues on to a stop at the bottom of the hill. The coke has been poured and is ready to drink. Well, wasn't that worth reading?
