I'm not sure if me making silly noises actually did play a hand in the birds appearing... but at least it didn't scare them away!

  • heather is nice

  • Thanks for the comment... yes, you can't beat a good heather display. It was a bit late in the year for the main Dunwich bloom here maybe... but nice none-the-less. Regards.

  • I've used a similar bird call noise to attract Buzzards. I tried to emulate thae classic bird of prey call while over at Knapwell's Overhall Grove Wood. (I'd spotted a pair circling over a field). I was surprised when they flew towards me and circled overhead to investigate. Once they realised I didn't pose a threat or a food source - they flew back over the wood. Annoyingly I didn't have a camera with me...

  • That's really good work getting a buzzard to react... even more so to do it in East Anglia. You'll have to pop back with the camera and try it again!

  • Hello,

I sometimes use tapes of bird song and put some bait like mealworm near to the speaker. now the breeding season is almost over, it may be something you might consider.

    Best wishes Richard
