What tempo did you have the beat on? I'm also trying to figure out what beat that was, was it pop? Either way, you did an amazing job. Five stars *****

not very usefull

Beautiful lesson!!! One question thou... Which scale is used as a base for the song? You said that the song is written in C minor but there are couple of notes out of the ordinary C minor. You are using F# and A#. The closest I could find was D# augmented fifth scale, but once again one note is missing - F#. Please help me out!!! I'm a self taught musician and there are this kind (as the question) of road blocks that are keeping me away of progress - lets say :). Thanks in front!!!

@TheAsavasa - I'm so glad you are asking theory related questions and thanks for the compliments! Most songs don't usually follow ONE particular scale. If so, it would be very boring!! The F# and A# (Gb and Bb) in this case are used as passing tones meaning it's just a note getting you from scale tone to another. Don't get the key signature and the scale confused. The key is Eb major/C minor but that doesn't mean they only use notes and chords in that scale.

im not trying to imply anything since im also learning how to become a better musician and to be able to notice the differences in chords. sorry sir for asking a lot of questions i want to learn that's why im doing this. if your doing the whole melodic minor scale you'd be in the key of c right? and also why not use the whole melodic minor scale for the chords as well, or you can also mix it like when ur improvising? anyway thanks for reading more power and God bless

so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I didnt see that this was up here until today. You have some great questions. If you are ever in the Virginia Beach area, look me up. I'll be happy to go over that stuff with you.
