This is a blues song about my daily commute by bus. The title, "Limbus", is the latin word for edge or boundary and is used in Catholicism as the name for the place between heaven and hell (where people are kept in limbo in a sort of joyless state). I feel as though I'm in limbo at the bus stop, while I'm waiting to see if the bus comes and utterly powerless to determine the outcome. Oh, I also used Limbus for the song title, because it ends in bus.

Councillors and traffic planners have often asked, "Well, Carsick Phil, what would you do about transport in the city". Actually, they never have, but if they did I would say, "Buses can't run on time, pedestrian's can't have a pleasant walk and cycling is dangerous, because there is too much congestion on our little roads. We need to reduce traffic particularly at peak hours otherwise nothing can work. This means getting cars off the road by a combination of barring them, charging them and making parking at peak hours expensive. When the buses can run on time, the pedestrian's enjoy walking and cycling is really safe, then more people will be happy to leave the car at home. This virtuous circle will make it even better for buses, walkers and cyclists. Before too long we'll be widening pavements, planting trees, and creating new cycle routes that will make our city a beautiful, quiet, green place."

If this sounds as though it gets the bus firms off the hook for now, well it doesn't. In the meantime, they could provide more accurate information about arrival times and carry enough change for their customers (or get the card payment system running properly). Blimey, I feel better for that.

And now to technical matters: Ibanez guitar tuned to open e played with a capo in G, Hohner C harmonica played cross harp in G, Boss RC3 looper, Vox DA5 amp, Blue Snowball usb mic, Audacity for mixing, thicker socks for this slightly chilly weather, and a little Chinese black tea for refreshment.
