This video quickly (thanks to caffeine) demonstrates how to create ANY type of pipe system in Revit MEP. The video show the creation of a simple pipe connection family that is the endpoint for some medical gas systems, specifically Oxygen (02), Nitrous Oxide (NO), and Nitrogen (N). Then, view filters are created for each pipe system, filtering on the System Name. The filters are then applied to a Plumbing Floor Plan. Finally, Pipe Tags are created that show the system names along with the pipe size.

  • First off, prefix for Oxygen = o2, Nitrous Oxide=N20 and Nitrogen= N2

Secondly, CGA color codes are O2=Green, N2O=Blue, N2=Black

  • Thanks for the video Martin.

Do you have other training videos for Revit MEP? I work at an MEP firm that has Revit and we have had training for MEP, but the training for the plumbing portion wasn't very ellaborate. We were told that it wasn't really ready for plumbing design. We would love to have more training for plumbing. How can I get in contact with you?
