Corporal Mike Hansbury is a Royal Military Policeman with 150 Provost Company, 1st Regiment Royal Military Police (RMP). He is currently serving with 8 Troop, 40 Commando Royal Marines in a Patrol Base in the Sangin valley.

Corporal Hansbury, 30, from Sheffield, provides frontline policing and forensic assistance to the Royal Marine unit he is attached to.

@NornIron19 I am also an RMP T.A 252 Provost, I also want to do CP. But I think they require you to do a few years in service maybe even a tour before they can recommend you for it.

@SNFozzy919 Im on the same boat as you. Im looking to join, and I had my first interview. And Im pretty sure once you've completed your training as a Lance Corporal and settle into the job abit you can go straight for the Close Protection.

@ SNFozzy919 no you have to do minimum 2 years general Police duties first before you do the cp course at longmoor as far as i remember get some experience first you will have enough to worry about on a tour of afghan

I'm thinking of joing the RMP, but more under the Close Protection side of it. Ive got one question though, can I go for CP training as soon im detached to whatever unit as a Lance Corporal or do I have to wait a little while first?
