Read the real story on Wikipedia... Most of what is said about "Ma Barker" is fictitious and a fabrication. She never participated in the crimes or carried a gun! "She couldn't even plan breakfast" much less a successful criminal enterprise! But it can make good songs and movies - oh well!

Such a great movie with some many future stars. As a kid, I didn't get to see it first run, but found the novelization paperback with the cover ripped off for 50 cents. My adolescent soul so enjoyed how the novelist filled in the story, particularly the sexy parts. Still, I love SHELLEY WINTERS. She was the best. As in most of her movies, I always remember SHELLEY SCREAMING. SHe was actually a HOT POTATO when she was young. Thanks for posting this.
