    I have never really understood why so many people call "Life of Brian" blasphemy. I'm not gonna pretend there are no religious jokes in the film, but wasn't the hole point of the movie that Brian was NOT the messiah? In fact, not only was Jesus in the movie, but he might have been the only character of the movie who was not made fun of.

    I think people who call Brian a parody of Jesus entirely missed out the point.

    Well said. In fact, I think a lot of the people who complain haven't seen the movie at all. They have just heard about it from other overzealus believers. They don't need to watch the movie, because they "know" it's blasphemy.

    Because of this, they don't give the movie a chance to show how clever it really is.
