Godzilla (a.k.a. Gojira) is the roaring granddaddy of all monster movies. It's also a remarkably humane and melancholy drama, made in Japan at a time when the country was reeling from nuclear attack and H-bomb testing in the Pacific. Its rampaging radioactive beast, the poignant embodiment of an entire population's fears, became a beloved international icon of destruction, spawning almost thirty sequels. A thrilling, tactile spectacle that continues to be a cult phenomenon, the original, 1954 Japanese version is presented, along with Godzilla, King of the Monsters, the 1956 "Americanized" version. • thanks bro as a long time G fan i just wanted 2make sure that im getting both versions guess what im doing tonight when i get home from work at 2am loool &why why why did u shoot this review in the washroom loool better privacy??.ALSO last real question is both versions in widescreen format i believe the bootleg copy i got 7yrs ago was widescreen i have to pop it in because of your review i was able 2add a classic with my favorite movie star of all time albeit a man in a Rubber suit lool

  • @deemer1972

Well, the reason why I shot there is because of the best lighting, if you check my channel where I shot outside of there, it has horrible lighting. No, both cuts of the film are made in fullscreen and is presented in fullscreen for both the DVD and Blu-ray editions of this set.

  • man great review , i just went out and bought this at my B&K , but i have a question that didnt come up in your review...does this movie have BOTH jap and american versions, because on the back of the box it says there is please help me bro ...awesome vid awesome review

  • @deemer1972

Thanks man! In my review, I said it includes both Godzilla and Godzilla, King of the Monsters. King of the Monsters is the American cut and Godzilla also known as Gojira is the Japanese cut, so yes, it has both cuts! :)

Thanks Robin Hood! =d In the U.K., they have a DVD set of Godzilla for really cheap, like 4 or 5 pounds, if you have a chance, be sure to check it out!

  • Great review Tyler! I have never actually seen Godzilla, I'm not the biggest fan of monster movies but hopefully I can check it out soon :)
