  • Such a delightful fantasy, one of my all time favourite films, first seen 50's television when they began all the airings of old films. Sadly in the usa there was no respect for films which were cut to ribbons for the sake of bloody commercials. at least now we can watch all in its glorious beauty. Ava was gorgeous. Eve Arden I have always adored in anything she did. Bob Walker was splendid and vastly underrated. I have know people who knew him..all say it was Jennifer Jones who destroyed him.

  • I love Eve Arden

It's too bad Robert Walker died so young He was a really good actor.I loved him in Hitchcock's "Strangers on a train"

  • thanks for sharing! love eve arden and ava gardner is simply gorgeous.

  • Ava Gardner was out of this world beautiful.I should be jealous (and I am ) but not in a bad way.She did´t just have a physical beauty, she was beautiful from the inside out.

  • I saw this film on TCM in the 1990's..when my schedule allows I hope to visit the Ava Gardner musuem in the Carolina's where she was born..

  • Ava had an almost mystical beauty that could be seen perfectly in this film.

  • @early60srcool Yes.so true.some of the best do die young.Although Elizabeth Taylor wasn't young(79,I believe?) It's sad we've lost her also. There's not many of the truly great ones left. Thank god we still have Mickey Rooney! He's just wonderful!

  • @4MaryAnna Yes! R. Walker was a great actor. In this movie he is a comedic stumblebum. In "Strangers On a Train", he is a very scary psychotic! A very chilling portrayal of a killer! The best die young. (sometimes)!

  • I'll always think of Robert Walker as Bruno Anthony, from "Strangers on a Train."

  • @dudemantwo Whatever it was, you can bet that his public stance and his thoughts, in his private circles, were miles apart.

    SPURN THE MUSE!!

  • hey is this the original version of Mannequin? cool!

  • Great to see Ava in a comedy with the wonderful Robert Walker and Eve Arden. Ava is definately at her most beautiful and that's saying a lot!
