@gggromay As a VW salesperson I was lucky enough to go to the luanch of the Amarok here in Australia and spent three days testing all the features and vehicle systems and I can assure you that the offroad ABS does make that much difference. I did this same test and in both passes I was on the brakes so hard I was off the seat. Normal ABS is designed to stop wheel lock up, which on a loose surface means your stopping distance is greatly increased. Offroad ABS lets the tyres dig in more.

@gggromay Proper driving technique on a slippery surface means pumping the brake pedal. You don't just mash it and spin out, poes.

that was staged! you can clearly see that on the first attempt he wasnt actually braking hard, when you brake hard on dirt (without blocking the wheels) you can see the car leaning and the dirt being pushed away by the tires. it is ridiculously clear he is just rolling to a soft stop where he puts the cone... if this is an attempt to fool people it doesnt work, it just hurts vw's and amarok's credibility, someone should get fired. its just ridiculously staged, its almost insulting.
