@squarefrog That was only with length of film and spool and developing pot, didnt have to cut, but was sure a fun lil exercise to get used to it in the dark!

Just recently found a Folding Cartridge Hawk-Eye at an estate sale that I am anxious to use. Going to have to perform a 120 tp 116 film transfer here in a bit. This is the most helpful I have found yet. I am hoping for good results!

Oh man, I remember doing this stuff back in school, having competitions for going in darkroom and loading film to spool and potting it, think i managed 9-11 seconds, fun fun! Oh digital, you've destroyed me!

You make it look so easyy :[
i am taking a photography class and i need to spool my film in the dark within 2 minutes, or i fail.
I can do it with the lights on, just off it hard, i can crank the film. just i can never ever get the film bast the ball berrings.
Any tips on it? My test is in 2 week :[
Thanks for the video, it helped.

I think that's quite bad. There shouldn't be any pressure when spooling film. I work at a College and I wouldn't dream of telling the students they need to do it in 2 minutes!
My advice is breathe deep before doing it. Close your eyes, then grab the edge of the film, tuck it into your spool until you feel it contact the bearings, then just twist one side of the spool to load it on. I like to have my fingers over the lip at the beginning of the spool so i can feel for jams. Good luck mate!
