Something I've been working on in 3ds Max and After Effects. This is the first version, I'm happy with the explosion itself but I am probably going to rework some of the other effects.

About that "loud BAAAANNNNG..." The blast is so deafening, you wouldn't hear much of anything. Well, not for a while. A nuclear blast is at the top of the list for things that are loud, reaching over 320 dB.

Depending on the distance from the initial blast, the heat wave is variable. The radiation would cook exposed flesh as if it were in a microwave oven.

Fallout is more of an important factor which was rendered and captured quite well in this video. Great job!
