i'm a 22 year old canes fan, born and raised in miami. i have pictures with reggie wayne at the 50 yard line, i played in the stadium during UM football camp in high school, and i've been going to games since the '92 orange bowl loss to nebraska. i was also at the last game last season. my father has memories of going to games dating back to the 60's. it is truly a tragic thing to see such a pillar of my youth being torn down. i can only imagine it must be worse for those with even longer ties.
Canes fan for life. I hope the Marlins fail miserably and is sold like they have been wanting to do for years anyways. The Marlins will never have the history that the Miami Hurricanes ever has had. Canes>>> Marlins
History is gone because of corporate greedy assholes!
Yeah, the memories will be there, but you can never go there again and actually stand there and experience the field and re-live those moments. I have a picture of me and Don Shula on the field when I was 11...it's special to go to the same place years later and stand in the same spot.
I can never duplicate that again.
I think it depends on how old you are and how many memories you have there.
This is So sad and painful to watch...this could of been one of the most historic and famous stadiums for all to see and experience for years to come...but because of greed and $ and lazzyness, History and tradition have been thrown away. This place was full of memories and emotions for thousands of people as they grew up in Miami. The city of Miami has made a big mistake and has slapped it's people in the face with this slow death of the Orange Bowl.
I agree with all of these posts.
I hope the Marlins are contracted.
