This a Backpacking trip into the Golden Trout Wilderness. A fifteen mile round trip with three thousand feet of elevation loss on the way down to Jordan Hot Springs and Nine Mile Creek Falls. First up is Jordan Hot Springs. There were six hot spring sources that we could find, and several cold springs. All the hot springs were along the banks of Nine Mile Creek. Then we head downstream to Nine Mile Creek Falls. The area we walk through was burnt in a big fire. There were some fallen trees blocking the path but it was still passable. The falls were on the map but were not named so we did not expect much. But when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The falls height was about two hundred feet! Awesome place.
Then we head back to camp at the old Jordan Hot springs resort. There were three cabins there and a few out-buildings. I was using my "trusty" Katadyn Hiker water filter but later the inlet hose mount snapped off. I would not recommend this filter. My cousins broke in the same spot as well.
On our last night there we were at camp and a storm was passing through. The winds picked up speed and the dead burnt trees started falling all over the place.....it was Crazy! We moved our camp to a open meadow that night....Hehe

  • We just hiked this yesterday! 13.5 miles round trip from Blackrock trail head down to the hot springs and back up again. Shew! Neat hot springs. I didn't see any of the cabins in your video. We filmed Shorty's cabin and the General store and the Lodge as well.

  • @TheValkaymo Cool how high was Ninemile Creek? I want to go soon too.

  • I filtered my water on the foot bridge (same spot) too. :)

  • @puisworld Its some good water :)

  • This spot looks amazing! What state is it in?

  • @mzzsashaYes it was nice, I am going back this summer for sure. It's in California near Kennedy Meadows.

  • Good overview of the area. Yes, the McNally Fire in 2002 torched a lot trees :(. Good to see areas are growing back and the Hot Springs are still good.

  • @ Davidsquall351....We started at 8,976.4 ft and descended to 6,510.8 ft in 6.88 miles, then headed back up.
