gas was ridiculous in 1997 when the national average price was $1.24 per gallon cause there was a huge boycott back then. Adjusted for inflation $1.24 in 1997 is equal to $1.75 today. Forget praying for $3 a gallon or even $2.25. Be pissed even if it drops all the way down to $1.75 cause thats stilll too much!

You don't have to quit buying gasoline, just don't buy from Exxon/Mobil. The price is elevated because SOMEBODY in Washington allowed it to be traded. The originating countries are getting more now, for sure, but the real unnecessary expense is the bullshit trading that is done with it as soon as it is paid for in American dollars. Its a spot market that should have kept the price low. Instead, it went through the roof because there are only a few players, buying and selling until refinery

Oil companies do not have control of gas prices. If they did, they would have raised them when gas was $0.25 cents a gallon. If you want to lower gas prices, call your congress person and get a vote to allow drilling new fields in the USA. Or stop buying gas and switch to a bike.

Exxon will pay more in income taxes this year than the entire bottom 50% of American individual taxpayers.

don't buy a new car... yes, that simple. buy used cars ONLY because car companies still make money after you buy their NEW CARS because they have shares in the oil companies- this is why car companies haven't made electric or hybrid cars sooners, they make money off of us even after we buy fossil fueld cars. want gas price to drop? don't buy new cars just buy used ones :)
