aye man i jus did my lil brothers hair they aren't real tight so as long as they hold together he should be fine. but my question is how long did you wait for your 1st wash? i have dreads but my hair texture allowed me to wash in the 1st month

yo when you do the twist and rip method, how do you lock up the hair thats gonna be growing under where you made teh lock. like i just made one but im wonderin if im gonna have to back comb it in 2 months or a month once new hair i didnt lock grows

@ieatrichppl the new growth can be maintained in many ways.. the best method for controlling that new growth is to clockwise - rub the hair against your scalp untill its knotty, then wash your hair, and while its still wet, retwist your dreads and braid them in three's to keep the new growth twisted so it can dry. once its dry you can take the braids out and the dreads will still be twisted & looking good. im making a video on this soon to clear it up.

Another question. I play drums(obviously) and I tend to sweat a good bit after practice or show, would that affect new dreads, considering washing my head every so often? How often do I or should I wash them without them coming to lose when they new? Btw I practice maybe 3 time a week in air condition, but still sweat a little, so idk how long it would take for that little bit to stink or w.e. Are there any products I can use for this?

@iDrum2Cum sweat isnt too harmfull for dreads.. if they start to sweat just wash them. if youre worried about them coming loose, just pull them back in a headband or tie them back in a ponytail. that way they wont move.

@iDrum2Cum meant to say if they start to SMELL then wash them.

I watched the 3 month vid and this one , when u got dreads, does ur hair grow the same speed as w/o dreads or slower?
iDrum2Cum 3 months ago
@iDrum2Cum alot slower because the hair has to matt up.. grows about half as slow. plus when you first do them, the first about 5 months they'll shrink untill theyre locked up.
