James Kalm met Mark Kostabi while working in an art supply store nearly thirty years ago during the nescient phase of the East Village scene. Over that time Kalm has watched with respectful amazement the recognition and attention Kostabi has earned. This brief interview was recorded at the opening of Mark's exhibition at the Martin Lawrence Gallery on West Broadway in Soho, May 5, 2011.
