that was over 100 mph.. looked more like a down burst, not that it matters. I find them fun but scary.

Just think: The two tornadoes had wind speeds of 80 and 100 MPH, but the 'macroburst' had straight-line winds of up to 125 MPH.
If the macroburst had winds that were going circularly [like a tornado], then it would be an EF-3. So technically, a non-circulating EF-3 hit the NYC area.
