@DarkBleedingRose When he jumped into the Mako reactor with jenova's head, he gained all her powers, god-like powers, from that point on, everything he did, he was never meant to do, he cheated because he had control of the lifestream, LOVELESS states he is meant to return with Genesis Rhapsodos after Dirge of Cerberus, that's why Cloud was given the ability to destroy Sephiroth by Minerva, the 'good' god, Jenova's sister, Cloud normally would've been killed along with his friends.

@DarkBleedingRose My whole point was, Sephiroth never lost, he had already won, Advent Children and his return in 7 weren't meant to happen, he is meant to return with Genesis after Dirge of Cerberus.

You are mistaken, they were not present for the end. Only Cloud had the power to deal the final blow. The friends helped, keep in mind they were using Materia, stones created from the life stream.
